DavidOooh, let's be PC [;)] You mean Inuit or Native American, Noel! [;)][}:)][:p][:o)] And what is it those Southerners eat? Ah yes! Are there any jellied eel shops in Leyland? [:o)] (Actually, anyone know what the North American nations think of being called Native Americans? It strikes me it lumps them all together when I got the impression each "tribe", for want of a better word - Navajo, Sioux, Apache etc. - regarded themselves as separate nations. Or is it regarded much as the English, Welsh and Scots regard being called British?)
We have an American Indian cafe in town.....on the menu....scalp butties [}:)][}:)] [8D][8D]

Couldn't agree more David. I don't think they would like being lumped together, especially as they once used to hack each other to bits in tribal wars.
KarenIn Canada ... they are called the First Nations .... and I think that includes all North American Native Indians. er ... and didn't the European, (African, Asian et al).... peoples .. 'scrap' with their fellow European(etc) nations ... many moons ago?!!!!!
hobsonlooking for those rockers and general dirty stop outs, that i once drank with over five years ago, you may know me as hobby or darren, long red hair, use to drink in the eagle, and the stokes or whatever it changed its name to, i was last sighted in leyland easter 2001, i fell in love with a lass called jane ireland ten years ago a gothic lass who had a twin sister and also an elder sister just like her, but i never got to tell her, if you see her say hello for me, i am now thirty and getting old, i use to work for leyland bus until 1993, i went to wellfield high for nearly four years then i was a social drop out, living in rome now but i am still the long haired dirty stop out i was and still will be, somethings never change,[xx(]

thanks dude, being a long haired scruffy, "censured" as my mother would call me, and maybe still does, well it makes you stand out a bit, living in rome is not much different than rome, honest!!!, now i do not live in rome anymore, it costs too much, but now i live in a small town 80km south of rome, high in the mountains looking down on the italian vineyards, life is so hard these days,....[}:)]
Lady GriffinWhat a hard life you have ,Darren---all that sun and red wine! So young too! Cheers Linda
hobsonall in the name of rock and roll, so who can tell me, what is the landmark of leyland these days, now there are no ugly gas tanks in hough lane, and what is this i hear no chimmney in l and b factory!, so it must be saint ambroses church that is widely seen these days. red wine will be the death of me, i drink it by the bottle, well i did, then i put myself into a coma and i thought that was not right, so i now drink less and eat more....anyroad got work to do, working at the worlds largest tire company is a bit different from leyland bus, i get paid less for doing more, a dopo...
MartinLeylands landmarks are Macdonalds and Tescos... It all seems to have changed from the days when I lived there

It's not got a Greek restaurant Martin, or Japanese, French, no Schnitzels . I think the nearest Greek restaurant is at Lytham and costs an arm and a leg unlike the real thing
anacortesdampThere's no Mexican or Thai, either. Both types are everywhere here. Anacortes is a town of about 15,000 and there are two Thai restaurants and three Mexican ones. We do have Greek, French, Italian and all the "burgeries". Frank Damp Anacortes, WA
noelI suppose Frank the list is endless. No Eskimo restaurant, no Red Indian restaurant, you were saying Martin?? [:D][:D][:D]

Hiya, Kevin, and welcome to the forum![:D] I realise why Native Americans are so called, I just wondered what they thought of being called Native American..... whether they preferred to be called by their nation - Sioux, Apache etc.
