| Martin | Try this out for a bit of fun. It's makes you think...

| Hayleypink | it only works when you are thinking of the symbol and consequently hover over it with your mouse....if you dont move your mouse it brings up the symbol you last picked or had your mouse over. |

Actually, that's not how it works. It is based on mathematics. If you take two a two digit number, lets say 43 and add together the two digits (4+3=7) then take that away from the original number (43-7=36) you will get a multiple of 9 (36=4x9). All the multiples of 9 will have the same symbol on the chart and that is the symbol that will appear.
some examples
10-(1+0)=9
25-(2+5)=18
33-(3+3)=27 and so on
simple [8D] |
| Hayleypink | ummm well i am not sure - you are saying every number you could pick ends in multiple of 9? |

Yes.
10-(1+0)=9
11-(1+1)=9
12-(1+2)=9
13-(1+3)=9

| Hayleypink | crikey.......
martin you are so clever i dont deserve you! xxxxxxx |
| LDunlop76 | Clever, but it doesn't always get it right - about a 30% fail rate for me. |
| noel | I'm not so sure that's how it works . I picked out 10 numbers and it got the correct symbol every time.
I think it's black magic or voodoo or summat. |

That means you need to brush up on your adding up Linda. It can't fail to get 100% |
| William R | I may be wrong, but if you look carefully, when you click to return to the numbers, all the functions of nine change their symbols, So it always goes back to nine as the result, and with the symbol changing each time, this appears in the crystal ball. Does anyone think the same way? Cheerio, Bill. |
| Hayleypink | i thinks is silly. |
| rocketmanjohn | This is really slick. All multiples of 9 always add up to 9 also.

Oops! The adding up was OK, but I now realise I was going back to the number I first thought of, not the post-subtraction number, on a few occasions. [:o)] In mitigation I had had three nights in a row of less than 4 hours' sleep! It seems to be getting the right symbol every time now..... though there was that time it gave the ship's wheel symbol and I could have sworn the one next to my number was the flowery thing.... but then you can't go back and check because all the symbols have moved on! [:o)] |
| rocketmanjohn | Martin, it's even simpler than that, now I figured it out. All series of double digit numbers add up to the same, ie.
80=8+0=8 subtract from 80=72
81=8+1=9 subtract from 81=72
82=8+2=10 subtract from 82=72
and so on up to 89,then the 90 series starts, therefore look at the symbol opposite 72
Also:
Say, choose the 40 series
40=4+0=4 subtract from 40=36
41=4+1=5 subtract from 41=36
and so on, therefore look at the symbol opposite 36
and, 'voila', it's the same symbol as that for 72.
This works for all series of double digit combinations. Try it.
You must do this without checking your answer or the symbols roll over. It's this that fools you. |
| Martin | Now that we've solved the mystery of the mind reader, the guy who invented it is asking for donations to give out the answer...

And we have given the answer for free. I hope he doesn't find out [:D] |
