They have now. Let's hope England aren't cheated again by the Argies and the officials. I can't see how any team can be proud of winning by cheating, but the Argies are. Great show by Ireland, Mick McCarthy 2( 1 own goal) Roy Keane 0.

I'm sure it will be a classic match, I just hope it doesn't go the same way as most of our other classic games. Maybe we could do to the Argies what we did to Germany

| noel | A win is a win indeed, we could have had 3 or 4 more goals and the Argies could have had a couple as well. A tense game with Nicky Butt having a superb game, never seen him play so well. Watch out for Nigeria though , they are a very unpredictable side.

| Martin | England seem to be getting their game together when it counts. The only team that is a real threat to us now is Brazil, I don't rate any of the others that are left. This could be our best chance since being knocked out in the semis in 1990.
Ireland are out after a poor penalty shoot out, can't really say any more about that.

Hi Martin, nice to see you back again.
The Irish were unlucky, deserved to win, but they had 7 penalties and only scored 3.
I have only one thing to say.

| rocketmanjohn | After losing the way they did, all the boasting I'd done at work came home to haunt me, cost me a lot of lost bets as well. Friday was terrible anyway, the match finished at 3:10 AM and I have to get up at 5. What a rotten day.

Oh dear. I always adopt a negative attitude John, then if anything positive happens it's a bonus, I have supported PNE for too long to know any different.

| noel | One thing that has been disappointing is the performance of some ofthe linesmen who seem totally incapable of understanding the offside rule or when the ball is out of play.
Italy have been badly done to as have Spain. A German blatantly handled on the line to stop a certain goal and it wasn't seen by the referee. I can see there being a call for TV replays.

I would have been really peed off if the Germans had won the world cup, they weren't the best side in the competition but certainly had the easiest route to the final.
